A brief chronicle of my quilting adventures peppered with amusing anecdotes about my kitties.

While this Make-A-List-Monday idea worked for a few weeks, we are seeing diminishing returns. So, I won't be updating this anymore for now. I am going to try hanging a white board right in the sewing room and see if that helps.

Make a List Monday
Not so successful last week. Although I did make progress on Jessie's blanket, I didn't finish it. Reasons Excuses: heat wave (for May) made it uncomfortable in the sewing room, injured wrist, awkward to work on now that it's getting to be big, worked on HeartString blocks instead.
So, for this week:
1. Finish Jessie's tie dye blanket.
2. Finish blue HS block set.
3. Prep crumb blocks for QAYG quilting.
4. Cut up blue print fleece and sew into cat mats.

Make A List Monday
I can't believe tomorrow is May first! May is a very busy month here, with school ending, so I think I will scale back my goals a bit. I think May is second only to December. There are so many year-end celebrations, etc.
So, here is the basic list:
1. Finish Jessie's tie-dye blanket.
2. Cut the orange center strings for the HeartStrings set of blocks. (Done! 5/1/12)
3. Press and cut some blue strips from the plastic bag of blues. (Done! 5/4/12)
4. Sew at least one strip onto each of the 24 HS blocks, so that the orange strips don't end up separated. (Done! 5/4/12)
5. Tidy up the work area. Either finish or bag the QAYG blocks made for the animal shelter.
If I can finish all of these, I'd like to pull fabrics for a Quick Trip quilt from Eleanor Burns' book of the same name. I was watching her tv show last week (recorded episodes on dvr) and really liked the quick strip quilt she was demo-ing.

I'm bored with these projects
It's been hard to keep on top of this week's goals. It seems like I'm bored with all of them at once. Part of the problem might be the audio book I'm listening to. There is not much action and it is kind of depressing. I think I'm on disk 7 of 9, so maybe I'll finish it this weekend.
I've worked on Jessie's tie dye - maybe 30% done. Worked on the crumb blocks, but every time I trim them down, I'm creating new blocks with the leftover, so there's no way to be "done" with them. Tore foundations for HS blocks, still need to iron. Mostly done with the trip around the world blocks - ready to put those away again. Almost done with the Summer in the Park block - have the 4 individual blocks done and pinned together, so a few more seams and that block will be done, too.
I hope to see some "Done!"s soon.

One More Thing for the List
I really wanted my Make-A-List-Monday post to have 7 items, one for each day, but I didn't want to add one, just to add one.
So, here is #7: Cut 24 foundations for HeartString blocks for the challenge in that group. (Done! 4/28/12)

Make a List Monday
1. Work on Jessie's tie dye fleece blanket. Complete to 1/2 way point, at least. (Done! 4/29/12)
2. Sew crumb blocks into 4 patches. (Done! 4/29/12)
3. Finish crumb blocks in progress and trim. (Done! 4/29/12)
4. Complete another set of four Summer in the Park blocks. (Done! 4/29/12)
5. Finish scrappy trip around the world blocks that are already cut. (Done! 4/28/12)
6. Pick next UFO to work on. (Done! 4/28/12) (Green/pink/purple FHQ) But this will have to wait until Jessie's tie dye is completed.
Thank goodness for the last minute, or nothing would get done....
